The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has responded to media questions concerning the rumored suspension of Metro FM presenters Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha and Lamiez Holworthy. Over the weekend, allegations on X (formerly Twitter) suggested that the presenters had been suspended for attending ANC rallies during the election campaign season.
Mmoni Seapolelo, Acting Group Executive for Corporate Affairs and Marketing at the SABC, addressed inquiries from IOL Entertainment. He confirmed that Shosha, co-host of “The Touch Down with Tbo Touch,” had been temporarily removed from her program but would resume her role on Monday. Seapolelo did not specify why Shosha was unscheduled but reiterated that involvement in political rallies or public affiliations with political parties violates the SABC’s editorial policy.
“The SABC can confirm that METRO FM on-air presenter Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha was unscheduled from her program but will be back on-air today,” Seapolelo said. “The SABC cannot provide details on the matter concerning the individual, except to state that hosting political rallies or publicly associating with political parties contravenes the SABC’s editorial policy, which is publicly available.”

Seapolelo also clarified that Lamiez Holworthy, host of “Penthouse Sessions” with Lulo Cafe on Saturdays, had not been suspended or unscheduled. “Regarding Lamiez Holworthy, she is not on suspension or unscheduled for any reason.”
Both Holworthy and Shosha were notable at the Metro FM Music Awards in Mbombela in April, where they served as presenters. Shosha was featured on the main stage with the renowned Tebogo “ProVerb” Thekiso, while Holworthy co-hosted the green room with 5FM’s Zanele Potelwa.
