South African artist Zakes Bantwini will mark his 20-year milestone in the music industry with a celebratory concert at the Durban International Convention Centre on July 5.
The event will be hosted by local creatives including Nandi Madida, TBO Touch, Boity, Minnie Dlamini, Kwenzo Ngcobo, Heazy, Robot Boii, and Mpho Popps. Organizers promise a spectacular show celebrating Zakes Bantwini’s musical journey and achievements, featuring performances of his greatest hits and special guest appearances from renowned artists.
The lineup of confirmed performers includes Zakes Bantwini, Kelvin Momo, Mi Casa, Sjava, Young Stunna, Major League DJz, Sun EL Musician, Drega, Stanky, and Joyous Celebration.

Born in 1980, Zakes Bantwini began his music career in 2004 while studying at Durban University of Technology. He founded Mayonie Productions, which paved the way for his illustrious career as a leading figure in South African music. His distinctive sound has made him a prominent name in Southern African house music, with acclaimed albums such as *Love, Light, and Music* (2013), *Love, Light, and Music 2* (2017), *Ghetto King* (2021), and *The Star Is Reborn* (2023).
Zakes Bantwini’s accolades include a 2023 Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance for ‘Bayethe’ alongside Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman, Best Dance Album at the 2010 Metro FM Music Awards, Best Male Artist at the 2011 South African Music Awards, and the GQ Men of the Year Award for Musician of the Year in 2022.
