Apple Music has revealed South African DJ and producer Lelowhatsgood as its latest cover star for Isgubhu.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of his debut album, “Next Level,” which listeners can now stream on Apple Music. The album showcases a diverse array of dance anthems and groove-infused melodies inspired by the vibrant musical landscape of Mzansi, with the gqom single “Seven Up” serving as a standout track.

Expressing his gratitude, Lelowhatsgood shared with Apple Music, “Being chosen as the Isgubhu cover star for May is not only a privilege for me, but it also shines a light on the queer creative community, which often doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves for its contributions to culture and music.”

To mark this milestone, Lelowhatsgood curated an exclusive Isgubhu playlist featuring tracks close to his heart.

He explained his selection process, stating, “I carefully selected these songs for my playlist because these artists inspire me. I admire their unconventional approach to music – they dare to think outside the box and avoid sticking to conventional norms. There’s a certain allure in pushing boundaries, and I’m drawn to artists who embrace that ethos.”
