South African musician Ricky Tyler has just dropped a 10-track album titled “Happy 2 Be Alive,” now available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
Featuring an impressive lineup of collaborations, the album includes tracks with artists such as Bien on ‘Another Episode,’ Tyson Sybateli on ‘No More Discos,’ Karun on ‘Video Games,’ Vuyina on ‘Finally Famous,’ PLXYGRND on ‘You Were Mine,’ and Tellaman on ‘Sunday Drive.’
Ricky Tyler shared, “Creating ‘Happy 2 Be Alive’ has been an incredibly cathartic process for me. This album reflects my journey and the experiences that have shaped me. I hope it connects with listeners and serves as a reminder that despite life’s challenges, there’s always a reason to be thankful and optimistic.”

Starting his career in 2017 with the release of ‘Swerve,’ a trap-inspired track that caught the attention of US-born, SA-based rapper Tshego, who later remixed it, Ricky Tyler has collaborated with various artists including M.I Abaga, Alpha P, KLY, and Harvey. He cites inspirations such as Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, Drake, Kanye West, and Jay-Z.
