Editorial Policy

Our Promise to Readers

AfroYard exists to cover African entertainment honestly, accurately, and independently. This policy explains the standards behind every story we publish.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editors — not by advertisers, labels, studios, or publicists. Coverage cannot be bought. Receiving a press release, an advance stream, or an event invitation never guarantees a story, and it never guarantees a favorable one.

Accuracy and Sourcing

We verify facts before we publish. We rely on primary sources — artists, filmmakers, official statements, and people with direct knowledge — and we attribute information to its source. When a story is developing and details are unconfirmed, we say so plainly.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted on the article itself. To request a correction, email content@afroyard.net with a link to the story and the details.

Sponsored Content

If content is paid for or produced in partnership with a brand, it is clearly labeled as such. Sponsored content is never disguised as independent editorial.

Reviews and Opinion

Reviews and opinion pieces reflect the honest view of the writer. We do not adjust scores or takes to please artists, labels, or partners.
