Femi Babafemi, the agency's spokesperson, shared the discovery in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, alongside a video showing the modified chargers and the concealed cocaine.
Babafemi said, "On the surface value, these are phone chargers but @ndlea_nigeria officers won't fall for that. Concealed in there are consignments of cocaine going to Saudi Arabia." The traffickers tried to disguise the illegal drugs as regular phone accessories, but the officers were not fooled.
Desperate Traffickers Use Everyday Items to Hide Narcotics
The latest seizure is another reminder of how drug traffickers continue to come up with new ways to beat security checks by hiding narcotics inside everyday items.
