Without a doubt, Krakye Geng was one of the hottest and baddest hip-hop duos in early 2020. The partnership of Kweku Smoke and Bosom P-Yung took the Ghanaian music scene by storm.
Kweku Smoke and Bosom P-Yung (Krakye Geng) collaborated on several tracks and were seen as a promising rap partnership in the Ghanaian music scene. The duo gained attention for their unique styles and impactful collaborations, including songs like “Criminal,” “Krakye Geng,” and my all-time favorite, “I Like It.”
However, while the duo initially garnered significant attention, both artists have since focused more on their solo careers. Kweku Smoke has continued to release music and maintain his presence in the industry, while Bosom P-Yung has also pursued solo projects and performances.
Krakye Geng released four audio tracks and three music videos during their time together. Their last release was “Yesu,” which featured only Kweku Smoke without Bosom P-Yung, in 2022.
Since then, Kweku Smoke has been working on solo projects, releasing three albums. On the other hand, Bosom P-Yung is currently in the US and recently released a new song.
As excited as I was personally for this music duo, it still breaks my heart to know they haven’t made any move or perhaps publicly released any song or press to explain whatever is stopping them from releasing any song or working on any projects.
While I hold onto the hope of a new release from them one day, it still bothers me to know what actually happened to Krakye Geng?
