Biography
Mr Eazi is Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, a Nigerian singer, songwriter and music executive born in Port Harcourt on 19 July 1991. At 16 he moved to Kumasi to study mechanical engineering at KNUST. There he ran a party promotion company before a guest verse on a campus hit, “My Life”, pushed him into music.
His style, which he calls Banku music, mixes Ghanaian highlife with Nigerian melodies and pidgin. After the About to Blow mixtape (2013) and “Bankulize”, he broke through with “Skin Tight” featuring Efya (2015), then “Hollup”, “Leg Over” and Eugy’s “Dance for Me”. His mixtapes Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos (2017) and Vol. 2: Lagos to London (2018) took him to a global audience.
Off the mic he is just as busy. His emPawa Africa programme discovered and funded new artists, Joeboy among them. His debut album The Evil Genius arrived in 2023, alongside the amapiano-leaning Chop Life, Vol. 1: Mzansi Chronicles, and Maison Rouge followed in 2025.
