O'Kenneth

O’Kenneth, also known as YGA O’Kenneth, is Kenneth Opoku, a rapper and songwriter born in Santasi and raised in Suame, Kumasi. He started making music at Tepa Senior High School around 2016, freestyling first and citing Kendrick Lamar as his model. He signed with Life Living Records, the Kumasi home studio known as the Trap House, in 2019.

He is one of the core members of the Asakaa movement that turned Kumasi into “Kumerica”. His verses on Jay Bahd’s “Condemn”, Sean Lifer’s “Ma Drip”, Yaw Tog’s “Sore” and Kawabanga’s “Akatafoc” in 2020 took the sound national and then global. That August he released the joint EP Straight Outta Kumerica with Reggie.

His solo album Until It’s All Said and Done (2021) was a more reflective drill record, with “Losing Grace” and “Hopez”. Straight Outta Kumerica II with Reggie followed in 2022, Pain in Glory with Xlimkid in 2023 and Came of Age in 2026. “Agyeiwaa” and “Obaa Hemaa”, with Skyface SDW, are among his most-played songs.
