Canada has invited 1,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry under the Canadian Experience Class. The invitation round was held on August 18, 2026, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Minimum CRS Score Required
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 523 to receive an invitation in the latest draw. The CRS score is based on factors including age, education, language ability, and work experience. The system awards points to eligible candidates and ranks them accordingly.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class, applicants generally need to meet the following requirements: they must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada, equivalent to at least 1,560 hours, within the three years before applying. The experience must have been gained through legally authorised work in Canada. The work experience must generally be in an occupation classified under Canada's National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 categories. Applicants must take an approved language test and meet the minimum language requirement for their occupation.
Invitation to Apply (ITA)
Receiving an invitation does not guarantee permanent residence; candidates must still submit a complete application and meet Canada's immigration requirements. When Canada conducts a draw, eligible candidates whose scores meet or exceed the cut-off for that particular round can receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. For the latest August 18, 2026 draw, the minimum CRS score was 523.

Invited candidates must submit a complete permanent residence application and provide the required supporting documents within the stipulated period.
