On June 2, 2024, NPR featured Tems in her latest appearance on the Tiny Desk stage, where she performed songs from her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Born In The Wild’.
Assisted by a live band, Tems began her set with a powerful rendition of her single ‘Me & U’, which has been nominated for Best Gospel/Inspiration Song at the 2024 BET Awards. She then followed up with ‘Ice T’ from her debut EP ‘For Broken Ears’.
The performance also included a preview of an unreleased R&B track titled ‘Unfortunate’, which will be part of her upcoming album. Additionally, Tems introduced ‘Forever’, another track from the album that blends elements of funk, jazz, and rumba, giving fans a taste of what to expect from ‘Born In The Wild’.

To close her set, Tems performed her latest single ‘Love Me Jeje’, which features a sample of the classic Nigerian song ‘Love Me Jeje’ by Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello.
This marks Tems’ second appearance on the Tiny Desk platform, following a home performance in 2022 that promoted her sophomore EP, ‘If Orange Is A Place’. Her recent performance is part of NPR’s celebration of Black women, with Tems being one of nine Black female artists featured on the Tiny Desk stage.
Tems’ debut album ‘Born In The Wild’ is set to release on June 7, 2024. The album will feature 18 tracks and include guest appearances from Nigerian Grammy-nominated artist Asake and American hip hop star J Cole.
