Nigerian online activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has faced a massive public backlash after taking sides in the ongoing family feud surrounding defunct music group P-Square. Thousands of followers have unfollowed him on social media, with many celebrities and fans criticizing his involvement in the dispute.
P-Square Feud Fallout: VDM Takes Heat from Celebrities and Fans
VDM recently took the side of Jude Okoye in the dispute involving the Okoye brothers. Celebrities and fans have accused him of interfering in a family matter without sufficient evidence. Cynthia Morgan, a Nigerian singer, has repeatedly criticized VDM over his involvement in the dispute, stating that he sided only with Jude because she refused his friendship.
Media personality Radiogad questioned some of VDM's claims, noting that he had yet to provide concrete evidence to support his position. Radiogad pointed out that much of what VDM had shared centered on conversations he claimed to have had with Cynthia Morgan and an encounter with singer Phyno, while Peter Okoye had not responded to his claims.
Fans Weigh in on VDM's Involvement
Fans have also joined the criticism, with some questioning VDM's decision to take a position in the family dispute. One fan, KDC Global, urged VDM to allow the brothers to speak for themselves and defend their positions in the matter. Artus Frank, a Liberian actor, also urged VDM to stay away from the dispute, despite his respect for VDM and his work.
VDM has appeared unfazed by the loss of followers, writing, "13,000 13 thousand people have unfollowed me so far……Nigerians, I am sorry. I made a terrible mistake. Forgive me,13 thousand people that have been giving me promotions and advertising,I am sorry, 13 thousand people, please forgive me."
The P-Square Feud Continues
The latest development adds to the public fallout around P-Square, whose members, Peter and Paul Okoye, have remained at the center of a long-running dispute involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. The feud has been ongoing for some time, with both sides trading accusations and counter-accusations on social media. The dispute has also drawn in other celebrities and online personalities, who have weighed in on the matter.
