Victony, FOLA, and More: The New Music You Need to Hear This Week

New Music Friday: Songs you should check out this week featuring Victony, FOLA, Niniola, Odumodublvck

This week, Victony drops his sophomore project STARLIFE, featuring multiple entries on the list. The title track off STARLIFE opens with Victony in familiar territory, using smooth R&B-infused vocals over midtempo Afropop production.

New Music Arrivals

The album also includes a collaboration with Young Jonn, blending rhythmic African percussion with contemporary pop instrumentation. This track is the more energetic of Victony's two entries this week.

FOLA continues his strong run of form with a high-energy release, stacking chanted vocal layers over an Afro-Amapiano backdrop to create something deliberately anthemic and crowd-ready. ODUMODUBLVCK also drops a new hit, although the entry point remains narrow for listeners outside his corner.

Afrobeats Evolution

Niniola steps away from her signature dancefloor sound for something far more personal, an intimate track called Pain. Yemi Alade and Don Jazzy also release a new track, which is both the record's strength and its limitation. The smooth Afrobeats production is pleasant enough, but the delivery does not fully match the weight the moment could have carried.

Personal Stories

The standout of the week for different reasons entirely is Niniola's track Pain, which strips away everything associated with her usual sound and replaces it with raw grief. This deliberate departure works precisely because it feels unguarded. The track marks a significant shift in her musical direction.

Other Releases

In other news, Nigerian singer and songwriter Victor AD (Victor Adere) released his latest project, The Therapist, featuring a track with Timaya. The artist returns to spiritual roots, turning personal history into testimony of resilience and grace. BoyPee also returns with a dancefloor-ready love anthem, exploring a more playful, confident, and performance-driven side of his artistry.
