Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, professionally known as Black Sherif, is a Ghanaian singer, rapper, and songwriter born on January 9, 2002, in Konongo-Zongo, Ashanti Region, Ghana. He rose to prominence in 2021 with his First Sermon and Second Sermon freestyle releases, before achieving international success with Kwaku the Traveller, a chart-topping hit that established him as one of Africa’s fastest-rising music stars.
Black Sherif is known for blending hip-hop, drill, highlife, Afrobeats, and trap with deeply personal storytelling about struggle, ambition, faith, and perseverance. His debut album, The Villain I Never Was (2022), received widespread acclaim and introduced his music to a global audience.
