Biography
Vetkuk is a South African DJ and producer, best known as one half of Vetkuk vs Mahoota, the house and kwaito duo he formed with Mahoota in 2001. The pair have been a fixture of South African dance music for more than two decades.
Their albums include Local Everywhere (2018, through Kalawa Jazmee), Common Factor and Let’s Play Piano (both 2022), the last two on their own Hootas Records. As amapiano took over, the duo moved with it, working regularly with DJ Maphorisa, Xduppy, Uncool MC and Ricky Lenyora.
Recent releases include “BELE”, “UVALO” with Dr. Lamondro and “Putuku” (6 November 2026), which brought in Mark Khoza, Uncool MC, Toss and Mluusician.
