Gyakie’s new single “Your Body (Crazy)” is the first record out of a new distribution partnership between her label, FlipTheMusic, and Warner Music Africa. It arrived on 16 October 2026 with a lyric video the evening before and a full music video on release day, and that video had passed 1.3 million YouTube views by the start of November.

Stream it from AfroYard’s “Your Body (Crazy)” page, which carries the Apple preview plus Spotify, Audiomack, Boomplay and YouTube Music links.

The Warner deal, in plain terms

MyJoyOnline and GBC both reported the arrangement. FlipTheMusic keeps control of Gyakie’s artistic direction and career management, and Warner Music Africa handles distribution. It is a partnership, then, not a record deal in the old sense. Her team still makes the creative calls, and a major gets the songs to stores and playlists.

That matters because of where Gyakie has come from. Jackline Acheampong grew up in Kumasi, the daughter of the highlife singer Nana Acheampong, and she was in the studio with him by the age of eight. “Forever”, from her five-track EP Seed (August 2020), topped charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria, and the March 2021 remix with Omah Lay turned it into a continental hit. She then signed an international deal with Sony Music and RCA UK. The new set-up with her own company at the centre is a different model again.

Gyakie “Your Body (Crazy)”: the song

Coverage of the release credits the production to AfroLektra (some outlets write the name as Lektra). The song moves between English and Twi, and the press notes that came with it describe it as an Afro-fusion record about attraction and chemistry. One audio upload and the smart link both use the spelling “Craze”, but the stores and the video say “Crazy”.

Several reports also describe it as the lead single from her third EP, The Dawn. No release date for the EP has been announced. If that holds, The Dawn would follow Seed and My Diary (2022), the EP that featured Davido.

After After Midnight

Her debut album After Midnight came out in August 2025 and was nominated at the 2026 South African Music Awards. She was also named in the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 class of 2025. The 3Music Awards had already called her Emerging Woman of the Year in 2021 and Woman of the Year in 2022. Fourteen months after the album, “Your Body (Crazy)” is the start of the next phase, and the video numbers suggest the audience waited for it.

The single is 2 minutes and 39 seconds long. That is short even by current Afrobeats standards. The music video, which runs longer at about three and a half minutes, was released by Gyakie Music on YouTube, with GhanaMotion and other sites sharing it in the following week.

What to watch for

Two things. First, whether The Dawn gets a date before the end of the year. Second, how the Warner partnership changes her reach outside West Africa, where “Forever” already gave her a following in Kenya. A SAMA nomination for After Midnight shows that the South African market is paying attention.

Start with the video, then go back to Seed. The six years between them are the story.
