Kofi Kinaata released “Boot 4 Boot” on 2 November 2026, and the official audio passed 40,000 YouTube views within its first two days. The four-minute single came out on his own Team Move label, with production credited to OT Woode and Willis Beatz, after weeks of snippets on TikTok had people asking for it by name.

You can play a preview on the “Boot 4 Boot” song page, which links to Apple Music, Spotify and Audiomack.

From TikTok clip to full release

Ghanaian music sites framed the release as a response to the buzz. BigTimez GH ran it under the line that Kinaata had released the song “after TikTok buzz”, and the first fan posts on the app greeted it with “Finally out!”. On 3 November, a day after the release, Takoradi’s Y97.9FM played it on its drive-time show The DrYve and billed the moment as the song’s official premiere on the station. That is a fitting place for it. Takoradi is home.

Kofi Kinaata is Martin King Arthur, born on 15 April 1990 and raised in Effiakuma, Takoradi. He raps in Fante, which earned him the nickname Fante Rap God, and his best-known songs are stories about ordinary people with very ordinary problems. “Made in Taadi” (2015) became an anthem in the Western Region, and “Confession” (2016) made him a national name. Ghana’s players danced to it at AFCON 2017.

What the title is about

Say it out loud and it is “boot for boot”, the way you would describe two people standing level with each other. Write-ups on Ghanaian blogs have described the lyrics as being about equality and reciprocity: meeting people on the same footing, giving what you get, and pushing through everyday battles. Kinaata sings and raps it in Fante, as usual, and blog reviews place it between Afrobeats and highlife.

That theme sits comfortably in his catalogue. From “Things Fall Apart” (2019) to “Effiakuma Broken Heart” on his 2024 EP Kofi OO Kofi, his songs keep returning to how people treat each other, usually with a local address attached. KNUST even used the lyrics of “Confession” in an English literature course, and the Ghana Music Awards have named him Songwriter of the Year three times running.

The YouTube description names two producers, OT Woode and Willis Beatz. The copyright line on Apple Music reads “℗ 2026 Team Move”, the label Kinaata set up when his deal with Samini’s High Grade Family ended in 2018. Apple files the song under Afro-Beat, and it runs 4 minutes and 2 seconds, which is long for a 2026 single and normal for him. He has never been in a hurry to get to the chorus.

“Boot 4 Boot” follows “Black Stars”, which he released in June 2026. It also lands at the start of the run-up to Christmas, which in Takoradi means one thing: the Made in Taadi concert, his December homecoming show. A new song that is already moving on TikTok is exactly what he needs going into that.

Where to listen

The single is on Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack and Boomplay, and the audio slide is on Kofi Kinaata’s YouTube channel. A lyric video followed on 4 November for anyone trying to keep up with the Fante.

If you only know the hits, play “Boot 4 Boot” after “Confession”. Ten years apart, the same habit is there: a simple phrase that sticks, and a verse that explains exactly what he means by it.
