Keeny Ice and Strongman released “3RD EYE” on 16 October 2026, a 2-minute-33 rap single through Cloud9gangs and ONErpm. Within a fortnight it had drawn breakdown videos from YouTube channels picking through the bars, at least one of them asking in its title whether it was a diss song. Neither rapper has said so.

Two rappers, two regions
The pairing joins two parts of the country. Keeny Ice is Amu Barnabas, a rapper from Aflao in the Volta Region, and he has spoken publicly about rapping in Ewe. He told MyJoyOnline that a radio station had refused to play one of his songs because it was in Ewe. His first single, “Adam and Eve”, came out in 2014 with Castro. He was named Artiste of the Year at the Volta Music Awards in 2019, earned an Unsung Artiste nomination at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, and released the Ice Cold EP in mid-2025 with guest verses from Lyrical Joe and Kwesi Amewuga. He has also performed at the BHIM Festival UK at Wembley.
Strongman is Osei Kwaku Vincent, from Buokrom in Kumasi. He came up through radio freestyle contests, winning Focus FM’s Freestyle Friday in 2010 and KFM’s Freestyle Saturday in 2011, then the first edition of The Next Big Thing in GH Rap in 2012. He later signed to Sarkodie’s Sarkcess Music before starting his own label, Strong Empire.

Keeny Ice and Strongman “3RD EYE” credits
The auto-generated YouTube credits are simple. Writers: Amu Barnabas and Osei Kwaku Vincent, the two rappers’ real names. Musicians: Keeny Ice and Strongman. Studio producer: Nexux Beatz. The song is filed under Hip-Hop/Rap on Apple Music, with Keeny Ice as the first-named artist.
“3RD EYE” is a title rappers like for a reason. It suggests seeing what others miss, and Keeny Ice has said openly, in a MyJoyOnline interview, that he feels the music industry has not been fair to him. That is probably why the breakdown channels jumped on it. When two rappers with long memories talk about seeing through people, listeners go looking for targets.
A strong year for Strongman
Strongman won Best Rap Performance at the 27th Ghana Music Awards on 9 May 2026 for “Mensei Da”. His projects include Buokrom Boy (2019), 10 AM (2020), God and Rap (2024) and The Tape (2025). In October he released two very different records within two weeks: “Everlasting”, a faith song with Ayisi, on 2 October, and then “3RD EYE”.

For Keeny Ice, a verse from a Ghana Music Awards winner from Kumasi helps his music reach listeners outside the Volta Region, something the Ewe radio story shows he has had to fight for. For Strongman, it is his second release of October, a hard rap record straight after a gospel one.
Listen to the song once for the beat and once for the words. Then decide for yourself whether anyone is being aimed at.
