Ko-Jo Cue and Joywxrld - Saara cover art

Ko-Jo Cue spent the start of October with an old friend and the middle of it with a new name. Two weeks after “This Trip”, his reunion with Shaker, he appeared on “Saara”, a single by the singer Joywxrld released on 19 October 2026. It runs 3 minutes and 1 second and came out under Joywxrld’s own name through the distributor Vydia.

Joywxrld and Ko-Jo Cue “Saara”: who made it

The credits on the auto-generated YouTube upload are more detailed than most. The producer is Trig Beatz. Guitar is by Nii Quaye Aryee, which is a credit you do not often see listed on a Ghanaian single. The composers are Gbadago Joy, the name behind Joywxrld, and Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, Ko-Jo Cue’s real name. So this is not a verse dropped in by email. Both artists are credited as writers of the song.

Joywxrld is an early-career artist with very little press coverage so far. “Saara” is billed as a joint release, “Joywxrld & Ko-Jo Cue”, with the copyright line “℗ 2026 Saara Joywxrld”. Apple files it under Afro-fusion.

Ko-Jo Cue as a collaborator

Ko-Jo Cue has a long list of duets. He is Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, born in Adum, Kumasi, on 27 May 1989 and raised by his grandmother in Bantama. His biggest early song, “Lavender” (2015), was with E.L, and “My BayBey” (2016) was with Mr Eazi. He made a whole album with Shaker, Pen & Paper (2017), and its song “Things We Do 4 Love” with KiDi was remixed with Sarkodie the following year.

Under his own Bantama Blues banner he has released For My Brothers (2019), the EP 21 Memory Lane (2021), I’m Back (2023) and KANI: A Bantama Story, which came out in November 2025. In 2025 he also put out singles with Fameye (“Abebrese”) and Ayisi (“Onipa Hia Mmoa”), and “This Trip” with Shaker came on 2 October 2026.

The title

Ghanaian listeners will recognise “Saara” as the name of Sarkodie’s 2019 single with Efya. Song titles are not owned, and this one belongs to a different record, but it is a good example of how certain words keep coming back in Ghanaian pop.

Why it is worth a listen

An established rapper lending a writing credit and a verse to a new artist is one of the oldest ways a career gets started in Ghana. Ko-Jo Cue got his own break when E.L helped him sign with BBnZ Live in 2014, so he knows how much one co-sign can do. With KANI’s first anniversary arriving in November, “Saara” is a reminder that he is still working with new names, not just old friends.

Listen to “Saara”, then go to “This Trip”. The same month, two very different partners.
