Usher to Receive Lifetime Achievement BET Award at 2024 Ceremony

American singer Usher Raymond is experiencing an exceptional 2024, with highlights including headlining the Super Bowl, getting married, and now, receiving a Lifetime Achievement BET Award. The 45-year-old superstar will be honored for his illustrious career at the BET Awards on June 30 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Connie Orlando, BET’s Executive Vice President for Specials, Music Programming, and Music Strategy, commented on Usher’s enduring relationship with the network: “The bond between BET and Usher spans decades, from his multiple appearances on 106 and Park to recently winning Entertainer of the Year at the 55th NAACP Image Awards. Past recipients of the Lifetime Achievement BET Award include legendary figures like Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Samuel L. Jackson, and Lionel Richie.

Earlier this year, Usher delivered a memorable Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas, which he described as one of the pinnacle moments of his career. Before the performance, he emphasized the importance of delivering perfection to his fans: “It has to be perfect. I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I want people who have been part of that journey to feel like it’s a celebration for all of us, from the beginning up until this point,” he told Vogue.

The 2024 BET Awards will take place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on June 30 and will be broadcast on Monday, July 1, 2024, in South Africa.
