Bogo Blay, born Bogo Blay Labran David in Goaso in the old Brong Ahafo Region, is a Ghanaian singer and rapper. He raps and sings in Twi with a non-Akan accent that makes his records easy to pick out on the radio.
“Jango” introduced him, and “Medicine”, a song warning about drug abuse, went viral on TikTok. “Zoom” and its remix followed, along with “Street (Mawea Mawe)”, “Antoa” and “Serwaa”. In 2023 “Esther”, DJ Carcious’s single with Bogo Blay and Medikal, won DJ/Artist Collaboration of the Year at the Ghana DJ Awards. That same year he released the project Wailing Monster.
He has kept up a steady run of singles since, including “Psalm 151”, “Mr Paul”, “Blessed”, “Russia”, “Period”, “Don’t Leave Me” with EL, and “Beautiful My Darling” with Abochi.
