Jay Bahd, born Jackson Kwadwo Bawuah, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and one of the leading figures of the Asakaa (Ghana Drill) movement.
Raised in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, he rose to prominence in 2020 through the viral hit “Sore,” alongside Yaw Tog, O’Kenneth, City Boy, and Reggie. Known for his gritty storytelling, distinctive voice, and street-inspired lyrics, Jay Bahd has become one of the faces of Ghanaian drill music.
He has released acclaimed projects including Return of Okomfo Anokye, The Return of Komfo Anokye II, and The Messiah, with standout songs such as “Condemn,” “Owuo Safoa,” “Anadwo,” “Akatanfo,” and “Tear Rubber.”
He has collaborated with artists including Headie One, Vic Mensa, Skyface SDW, Kwaku DMC, O’Kenneth, Reggie, and City Boy, helping take the Asakaa sound to a global audience.
