Biography
Kabza De Small, born Kabelo Petrus Motha on November 27, 1992, is a South African DJ, record producer, and songwriter widely regarded as the “King of Amapiano.”
Born in Mpumalanga and raised in Pretoria, he began his music career as a house DJ before becoming one of the pioneers of the Amapiano genre.
His breakthrough came with projects such as Avenue Sounds and Scorpion Kings, alongside DJ Maphorisa. Known for his soulful piano melodies, deep basslines, and signature production style, Kabza has produced hit songs including “Sponono,” “Abalele,” “Asibe Happy,” “iLog Drum,” and “Imithandazo.”
He has collaborated with Burna Boy, Wizkid, Young Stunna, Ami Faku, Msaki, DJ Maphorisa, and many of Africa’s biggest artists, earning numerous awards and international recognition.
