Okese1 is the stage name of Afrane Frank, a Ghanaian rapper born on 21 February 1997. His family is from Bonwire in the Ejisu-Juaben district. He went to Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi and then the University of Cape Coast.
He arrived in 2020 with “Yie Yie”, a song that went viral in Kumasi, spread across the country and topped Boomplay’s Top 100. “Hustle” with Medikal, “Amount”, “Na Today” and “Woso” followed that same year, and he kept the run going with “Momo”, “Trapper” and “The Goat” in 2021. His sound is loud, catchy trap in Twi and Pidgin.
He founded the Amotia Geng crew and is part of Criss Waddle’s Arab Money Gang. His projects include the Pressure EP (2023), I Never Left (2025) and The Hardest (2026), and he has kept up a steady stream of singles.
