Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. on October 17, 1984, is a Ghanaian dancehall musician, songwriter, and entrepreneur.

Born and raised in Accra, he began his music career under the stage name Bandana, gaining early recognition with the hit song Moko Hoo. After taking a break from the spotlight, he returned with a new identity as Shatta Wale and quickly became one of Ghana’s most influential and commercially successful artists.

Known for his energetic performances and outspoken personality, Shatta Wale has released numerous hit songs, including Dancehall King, Melissa, Ayoo, My Level, Taking Over, and On God. His music blends dancehall with Afrobeats, reggae, and Ghanaian influences, earning him a massive fan base known as the Shatta Movement (SM).
