King Paluta

King Paluta is Thomas Adjei Wireko, a Ghanaian rapper, singer and producer born and raised in Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. He first made his name in street rap battles in Kumasi, the home of the Asakaa sound, and is counted among the leading voices of the city’s “Kumerica” movement.

His music mixes traditional Ghanaian rhythms with hip-hop beats, humour and social commentary, and he switches easily between Twi and English. His best-known records include “Creativity”, “Songs of the Legends” and the “Yahitte” remix with Kuami Eugene, Strongman and Amerado.
