Takum

Takum is Fred Baaffour Asare, a Ghanaian singer and songwriter born on 26 June 1992 in Nyankumasi Ahenkro, in the Assin South District of the Central Region. He sings Afrobeats, Afropop, highlife and hiplife.

He went to D/C Experimental Primary and Junior High and then Fantsi-Nyankumasi Ahenkro Senior High. There he joined a music group and started working with a beatmaker named Zontii. The group broke up after school, but Takum kept going on his own and later moved to Accra to build his career. His debut single, “Dab3n”, was a hit across the Central Region and got him noticed in the media.

He records with Go Getters Records. His projects include Songs of Reality, Vol. 1 (2023), The 10th Chapter EP (2024) and Songs of Reality II (2025), with later singles such as “No Rushing”, “Imagination” and “On God”.
