Takum

Takum, born Fred Baaffour Asare on June 26, 1992, is a talented Ghanaian artist from Nyankumasi Ahenkro in the Assin South District, Central Region of Ghana. As one of the fastest-rising Afrobeat, Afro-pop, Highlife, and Hiplife artists in the country, Takum’s journey in music reflects both his passion and determination.

Takum had his basic education at D/C Experimental Primary and Junior High and completed his secondary education at Fantsi-Nyankumasi Ahenkro. His early exposure to music came during his secondary school days when he joined a musical group and collaborated with a beatmaker named Zontii.

Although the group disbanded after school, Takum continued to pursue his dreams independently, eventually moving to Ghana’s capital to advance his career. Takum’s professional music career took off with the release of his debut single “Dab3n,” which became a hit not only in the Central Region but also gained considerable media attention.
