Biography

Pope Skinny is a Ghanaian rapper who made his name during the hiplife boom of the 2000s as an Asuoden Music act. The label later released the compilation Best of Pope Skinny.

He has a long history with Shatta Wale, appearing on “Salala Nigga” (2016), “Mayaa Tra (Been There Done That)” and “Adwoa” (2017), “Shut Up” (2018), “Convos” (2021) and “Forgetti” (2023). He also features on Stick Pee’s “Sikirisi” and Buk Bak’s 2026 single “Crocodile” with Castro, 4X4 and Skrewfaze.

He later moved to the United States. In an October 2024 interview with Accra FM, reported by Graphic Showbiz, he said he works as a truck driver there and argued that Ghana’s music industry does little to secure artists’ futures.

He has kept releasing music, with “Kneel Down” (2025), “Hello Okwasiaa” and “Menkor” (2026), and in August 2026 he joined Tee Rhyme on “Proof”, which was remixed in October with Obibini and Ras Kuuku.
