Biography
AratheJay is Samuel Ofei Ankrah Badu, a Ghanaian singer and songwriter whose music mixes highlife, Afrobeats and hip-hop with a strong spiritual streak. Ghanaian profiles place his birth in Sekondi-Takoradi. His stage name started at school, where an older student called him “Ara the Junior”. He also performs as Nimo K. Constantine, a name that nods to the highlife great Koo Nimo and to the Roman emperor Constantine.
“Sankofa” got a remix with King Promise in 2022, and in 2024 he was named in Apple Music’s Up Next programme for Ghana. That year “Jesus Christ” was followed by “Jesus Christ 2” with Black Sherif, which reached No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top 100: Ghana and made the Africa Now: Best of 2024 playlist.
His projects are Finding Nimo Series: The Capsule (2024), The Odyssey (2025) and the CHRISTO DISCO EP (July 2026). He features on KiDi’s album Where Do We Go From Here, released “Wings” in October 2026, and is on “GEN Z II” with Fameye, Joey B and Sarkodie.
