Tee Rhyme has made “Proof” bigger. The Ghanaian rapper released a remix of his August single on 30 October, keeping Pope Skinny from the original and adding Obibini and Ras Kuuku, and the result puts a hiplife veteran, a Zylofon rapper and the “Ghetto Youth President” on one record.
Sevensnares, who produced the original, is back behind the beat, with Bossubad on the mix. The audio slide on Tee Rhyme’s YouTube channel passed 6,800 views in its first week, and the remix is out on Spotify, Audiomack and other platforms through Stylish Music Gang.
From “Proof” to the remix
The original “Proof”, with Pope Skinny alone, came out on 12 August. A visualiser, shot by Fikozee, followed in early October under the title “The Proof is Here”. Less than a month later the remix arrived with two more voices.
Who is on the “Proof” remix?
Tee Rhyme has been releasing music since the late 2010s, from “Twa Wa Num” (2018) to his project Toli Series. He has recorded with Fameye on “Kwan Tenten” and with Kwame Nut on “Heart Break” and “Maame”, and he is a regular guest on other artists’ songs.
Pope Skinny made his name during the hiplife boom of the 2000s as an Asuoden Music act, and later became a regular on Shatta Wale’s records, from “Salala Nigga” to “Forgetti”. He now lives in the United States, where he told Accra FM in 2024 that he works as a truck driver, but he has kept releasing music, including “Kneel Down” and “Hello Okwasiaa”.
Obibini signed to Zylofon Music in 2017 and stayed with the label after the Menzgold collapse. His album Diagrams, his 2021 back-and-forth with Amerado and 2026 singles such as “Nebula” with Ko-Jo Cue have kept him in the conversation.
Ras Kuuku, born Kojo Kurankye, is the reggae and dancehall artist behind “Nwansina” and “Kpagbum Style”, and the 2020 Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards. He released “Neɛ Aka” on his birthday in July and joined PanDem on “No Problem” in October.
A reunion for Tee Rhyme and Ras Kuuku
The remix is not the first time Tee Rhyme and Ras Kuuku have shared a song. “Fire”, with its official video on Tee Rhyme’s channel, brought them together around six years ago, and the description of his “Proof” visualiser still names Ras Kuuku among his collaborators.
Bringing rap and dancehall voices from different eras onto one beat is a bold move for an independent rapper. On the “Proof” remix, Tee Rhyme gets all three on the same song.
