TxC

TxC is a South African DJ and production duo from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape: childhood friends Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke. The name was inspired by their ex-boyfriends, who were also DJs. They trained at Kue DJ Academy, built a following on social media and played their first gig in Johannesburg on 28 October 2019. Both are also models, and Tarryn designs their stage outfits.

Their debut EP, A Fierce Piano (2022), took them on a world tour, and they performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Fan Festival in Qatar. They told GQ South Africa they had sold out shows in 22 countries. In 2024 they signed with the US label Love Renaissance (LVRN) and released the Turn Off the Lights EP.

They won Best New International Act at the 2025 BET Awards. “Nakupenda”, with Davido, Shoday and Scotts Maphuma featuring Zlatan and Al Xapo, reached number 3 in Nigeria, and their EP Straata came out in June 2026.
