Ugly Dray

Ugly Dray, born Cyril Dally Nana Yaw Elikplim, is a Ghanaian rapper from Kute, a village in the Oti Region. His family moved to Accra when he was six, and he did his basic and secondary schooling there. In 2015 he enrolled at Ada Technical Institute to study building and construction.

He knew from childhood that he wanted to be an artist. He writes about ambition, struggle and everyday life in the city, and he says he wants to speak for people who don’t get heard. He names the American rapper Meek Mill as his biggest influence. Campus crowds suit him best, and he plays university and senior high school events often.

After singles such as “Good Heart” (2022) and “Stuupid” (2025), he released three projects in quick succession: ITHIE (Is This How It Ends) and Pride Before The Fall in 2025, then Beneath the Glory in 2026. He went back to singles later that year with “Sinner” in August and “Jaakpaaa”, featuring Ka-Chi, in September.
