Ugly Dray Returns With “Jaakpaaa” Featuring Ka-Chi

Ugly Dray has a new single out. “Jaakpaaa”, featuring Ka-Chi, was released on 21 September 2026 through Indigo Music Factory. It arrived three weeks after his drill record “Sinner” and runs for two minutes and 28 seconds.

It is his second single since the EP Beneath the Glory in March, and it will not be his last this year. Apple Music already lists two more with dates attached: “Outside”, with Daboy Kenzi, on 20 October and “All Over” on 20 November. That makes four singles in under three months.

What we know about “Jaakpaaa”

The credits are short. Two writers are listed, Cyril Dally and Paul Onyekachi Mbonu. The first is Ugly Dray under his own name. The producer credit goes to KachiBeatz, and the guest is billed as Ka-Chi on Apple Music and simply as “kachi” on other services. The record is distributed by The Orchard.

At under two and a half minutes it is a few seconds shorter than “Sinner”. Neither song hangs around. All four tracks on Beneath the Glory ran past three minutes.

Four singles, four genre tags

One detail in the release schedule is worth pointing out. Each of the four singles is filed under a different genre on Apple Music. “Sinner” is tagged Ghanaian drill. “Jaakpaaa” is tagged hip-hop. “Outside” is listed as Afrobeats and “All Over” as R&B and soul.

Genre tags are chosen at upload and they are a blunt tool, but four different ones in a row does not look like an accident. It reads like an artist showing range on purpose, one song at a time, where an EP would have asked for a single mood. We will know more when the last two are out.

“Sinner” came first

“Sinner” was released on 31 August 2026. Big Fii produced it, SterryO mixed and mastered it, and Ugly Dray is the only credited writer. It has no guests and lasts two minutes and 31 seconds. A month on, it is already third on his list of top tracks on Spotify, behind “Never Lose” with Lyrical Joe and “We Outside”, both of which have had years to build up plays.

A busy two years

The singles follow the most productive stretch of his career. He released three EPs in nine months: ITHIE (Is This How It Ends) in June 2025, Pride Before The Fall that September and Beneath the Glory in March 2026. The first two have six tracks each. The third has four, with Efya on “Dream, Deals & Adel” and Afel on “Double G”.

Around those came “Stuupid” with D-Black in February 2025 and “Good Life” with Xbusta that November. He has kept up the guest work too. On 11 September, ten days before “Jaakpaaa”, he appeared on “Kama Kama” from Kofi Thug’s EP DFA.

Ugly Dray was born Cyril Dally Nana Yaw Elikplim and names Meek Mill as his biggest influence. In August he ended up on Meek Mill’s TikTok Live, which we wrote about at the time.
