Yaw Tog, born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah on May 8, 2003, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and one of the pioneers of the Asakaa (Ghana Drill) movement. Raised in Kumasi, he gained international attention in 2020 with his breakout hit “Sore,” featuring O’Kenneth, Reggie, City Boy, and Jay Bahd.
The song became a cultural phenomenon and its remix featuring Stormzy and Kwesi Arthur introduced Yaw Tog to a global audience. Known for his energetic delivery and street-inspired lyrics, he has released projects including TIME, Young & Matured, and Tog City, with popular songs such as “Sore,” “Y33gye,” “Fake Ex,” “Azul,” and “2FLY.” He remains one of Ghana’s leading voices in contemporary hip-hop.
