Biography
DopeNation are Michael Boafo and Tony Boafo, identical twin brothers from Ghana who work as B2 and Twist. They were born in Accra and grew up in Abeka, then moved to Takoradi, where they went to Ghana Secondary Technical School and Sekondi College. Back in Accra they studied at the University of Ghana and Ghana Technology University College. E.L introduced them to music production in 2012 and became their mentor.
They made their name behind the boards first. Their production credits include Shatta Wale’s “Kpuu Kpaa”, Joey B’s “Wow” with E.L, Ebony’s “Poison”, Eazzy’s “Forever” with Mr Eazi and Pappy Kojo’s “Nana Ama”, and they have also worked with Olamide, Tekno and Fameye. As artists they started with “Bebia Ye Shi” in 2016 and “Uh Huh” in 2017. “Eish” followed in April 2018, and “Naami”, with Olamide and DJ Enimoney, won them Group of the Year at the Soundcity MVP Awards. “Zanku” came out in 2019.
In 2021 they introduced the visually impaired singer Adelaide The Seer on “Wire Me” and “What a God”, released Music and Dance with Dancegod Lloyd and Afrobeast, and put out their first album, Atta. Since then they have built their sound around what they call Ghanapiano, with the 2023 project Ghanapiano, which includes “Check My Zingo” with Sarkodie, and Ghanapiano – The Album in July 2025, home of “Zormizor (Asabone)”. In 2026 they joined Sarkodie on “E No Easy” and released “Me Sisi” in October.
