Efya is back on a new record, this time as the voice on a producer’s single. “Move”, credited to Khendibeatz and Efya, came out on 16 October 2026 through Khendibeatz Slaughter House and Yve Digital. It is short, 2 minutes and 23 seconds, and Efya is listed as a co-writer under her full name.

What the song is about
The description on Khendibeatz’s audio visualizer spells it out. It calls “Move” “an uplifting record built around ambition, personal growth, confidence, and the desire to move beyond limitations”, about “someone determined to improve their life, chase bigger dreams, and celebrate every step forward”. It also calls the record Afropop. That is the team’s own framing, and the title does the rest.

Efya and Khendibeatz “Move” credits
The auto-generated YouTube credits list Efya on vocals and KhezzBeatz as producer, with Yve Digital as music publisher. The composer and lyricist is Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, Efya’s full name, which makes her the writer of the words she sings. The artist name on the release is Khendibeatz, the producer who also worked on Yaw Tog’s “Aso)den”, according to OkayAfrica and DJ Mag’s coverage of that single.
Producer-led singles with a guest vocalist are common in Ghana now, and they suit both sides. The producer gets a lead credit and a song built around their sound, and the singer gets a new record without the cost of a full rollout. For Efya, whose releases have been spread out over the years, that is an easy way to stay heard.
Who Efya is
Efya is Jane Awindor, born in Kumasi on 10 April 1987. Her mother is the filmmaker and TV host Nana Adwoa Awindor. She came third on the first season of Stars of the Future in 2006, then formed the duo Irene & Jane with the winner, Irene Logan. After they split in 2008, she went solo, signed with One Nation Entertainment in 2011, and won Best Female Vocal Performance at the Ghana Music Awards four years running, from 2011 to 2014.

Her mixtape T.I.N.T carried “Best In Me”, and her debut album Janesis finally arrived in April 2016 with “Forgetting Me”, “Jorley” and “One of Your Own”. She has also been a sought-after guest, singing on Mr Eazi’s “Skin Tight”, Eno Barony’s “God Is a Woman” and Sarkodie’s “Saara”.
