Lasmid has a new single. “Mmrɛ (Time)” arrives on Friday 6 November 2026 through N.E Records, the label behind his recent run of releases. It is short, two and a half minutes, and it lands in the middle of the busiest few months of his career.
The title is the Twi word for time, with the English in brackets, and Apple Music files the song under hip-hop and rap. Here is what we know about it, and why it arrives at a good moment.
Lasmid’s third N.E Records single of 2026
“Mmrɛ (Time)” is Lasmid’s first solo single since “Liquor Store” in August, and his third of the year on N.E Records after “Biggest Nathaniel” in July. The label has been his home since “Puul” in February 2024, and it also put out “Olivia” and “No Issues”, his collaboration with King Promise. The YouTube release of “Biggest Nathaniel” was even credited to “N.E Records & Lasmid”, which says a lot about how closely the two work.
The full writing and production credits had not been published at the time of writing. We will add them to the song page as soon as they appear on the official release.
A new song while six others are still charting
The timing is hard to ignore. As of 5 November, Lasmid was credited on six songs in Apple Music’s Top 100: Ghana, led by “Faith” with Kweku Smoke at number 2, alongside “Liquor Store”, “Signature” with KiDi, “Wish I Had a Girlfriend” with Reggie and Beeztrap KOTM, “Darkest Style” with D Global and “Biggest Nathaniel”. We looked at that run in detail in Lasmid Is Everywhere.
Only two of those six are his own singles. Most of his chart presence this year has come from features, so a new solo record is a chance to put his own name first again. If “Mmrɛ (Time)” enters the chart, it would be his seventh song in Ghana’s Top 100 at once.
How Lasmid got here
Lasmid, born Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu in 1999, comes from Takoradi in the Western Region. He won MTN Hitmaker in 2019 while still performing as Charger, signed to Kaywa’s Highly Spiritual Music and broke through in 2022 with “Friday Night”. Since then he has appeared on records with Sarkodie, King Promise, KiDi, Kweku Smoke and JZyNO.
