Kweku Smoke Puts Every NO DAYS OFF Song in Ghana’s Apple Music Top 20

Kweku Smoke has put every song from his new album into the top 20 of Apple Music’s Ghana songs chart. NO DAYS OFF has 13 tracks, and on the chart dated 28 September 2026 all 13 are there. The top nine places are all his.

“Bra” is at number one, followed by “Bombele”, “Faith” with Lasmid, “Survivor”, “Soul Healer”, “Halleluyah”, “Mmereniho” with Dikoo, “Okwantunii” and “Power House” with Kwesi Arthur. Black Sherif’s “Jolie” at number ten is the first song by anyone else. After that, “Life Of A Hustler” is at 11, the title track at 13, “Set it Straight” at 15 and “Through The Pain” at 16.

The album came out on 4 September, which is also Kweku Smoke’s birthday. More than three weeks later it has not dropped back. Every song on it is still in the top 20, and the album itself is number one on Apple Music’s Ghana albums chart, with Black Sherif’s SUN SHERIF second.

A short album with few guests

NO DAYS OFF is a compact record. It runs about 33 minutes, and the longest song, “Bra”, is 2:59. Nothing on it goes past three minutes. Kweku Smoke released it on Scatter Der, the label he has run since 2024.

There are only three features. Dikoo is on “Mmereniho”, Kwesi Arthur is on “Power House”, and Lasmid is on “Faith”, which closes the album. The other ten songs are solo, and those solo songs are the ones at numbers one and two.

That matters because a common way to fill a chart is to spread songs across a lot of guest artists and pick up each of their audiences. Kweku Smoke took the opposite route. His 2020 album Snoop Forever, released while he was with Krakye Geng, had ten guests across 16 songs, including Sarkodie, Efya, Joey B and D-Black. This time the audience is coming for him. (We looked at other African albums that go it alone earlier this month.)

The single that came first

“Faith” was the only song people had heard before release day. Kweku Smoke put it out on 28 August, a week before the album, and it is now at number three. Mog Beatz produced it. Kayomi, who also worked on 2024’s Born in Hell, produced “Bombele”, which is at number two.

The song is also helping Lasmid. He has “Liquor Store” at 25 on the same chart and is featured on KiDi’s “Signature” at 27.

Not just Apple Music

Apple Music is one chart, and a chart this one-sided could be a quirk of one platform. The Audiomack numbers suggest it isn’t. By late September, NO DAYS OFF had passed 3.8 million plays there, which is a strong figure for a Ghanaian rap album with so few features.

His back catalogue is moving as well. “Hold Tight”, an older song, is at 30 on the Apple Music chart, so 14 of the top 30 songs in Ghana right now are his.

The one artist who got through

Only one other artist comes close. Black Sherif released SUN SHERIF, a six-song EP, the same week, and five of its songs are in the top 20. “Jolie” at number ten is the highest. Apart from those two projects, the only songs in the top 20 are Davido’s “B4 B4” with FOLA and Mayorkun at 18, and Fameye’s “Gen Z” at 19.

In other words, 18 of the 20 most-played songs in Ghana come from two releases that came out within a day of each other. We have the full list with notes on every song in our Apple Music Ghana top 20 for 28 September.

Four projects in under three years

The chart run caps a busy stretch. Since moving to Scatter Der, Kweku Smoke has released Kweku Jesus in March 2024, a ten-song album with no features that reached number one on iTunes in Ghana. Born in Hell followed in September 2024, also ten songs with no guests, also released on his birthday. WALK WITH ME in October 2025 brought in AratheJay and Vic Mensa.

He comes into this with awards behind him too. At the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards he won Best Hip Hop/Hiplife Artist, and his song “Holy Ghost” won Best Rap Performance and Best Hip Hop Song.

Kweku Smoke, born Paul Amankwah, grew up in Berekum and studied at KNUST before his breakthrough in 2019 with “Yedin”, featuring Sarkodie. Seven years on, he runs his own label and holds the top nine places on the country’s biggest streaming chart.
